REACHING GOALS IS A MATTER OF ATTITUDE
AND A GOOD ROAD MAP

          Once you get over the initial I can’t attitude and you begin thinking I can and I will , you will feel and see changes.  You will begin to transform into the person you want to see in the mirror.  Follow the UC nutritional plan and a sensible workout regimen and you won’t have anything to worry about.  The main thing is to stay mentally positive and not give in to urges for things that will drag you down.  The ability to make Unlimited Changes are already inside of you.  Now you just have to make it happen.  Below are a few steps to keep you on track.  I call them the Steps to Success.

STEPS TO SUCCESS:

* Determine your Goals
These should not be superficial goals, like simply shedding 20 pounds or dropping a dress size.  If they are your only GOALS then you have some mental work to do first.  The goals should be deeper, more intense.  In your minds eye you have to see it.  You need to have a clear and unwavering picture in your head of what you want to look like, feel like and be like.  Part of your vision may include weight loss, muscle gain, increased activity level and a more attractive appearance.  However, the goal, your overwhelming driving desire, must be branded on your mind so that you do not even give yourself a chance to fail.  Failure can not even be an option to you.
WRITE YOUR GOALS DOWN; post them where you will see them everyday.  Post them in many places where you can view them throughout the day.  I have seen droves of people with the simple goal of losing weight actually reach their goal and lose the poundage.  Then to their dismay they gain it back.    They continue this process over and over and fight the never-ending battle not knowing what to do.  Eventually, many give up, throw in the towel deciding that they are destined to be overweight.  Most of them never had a clear picture of what they really wanted, nor did they comprehend that they had to change their lifestyle not just their weight.  If they would only change their goal and brand it in their mind to look good, to feel great, to continue to exercise and eat right no matter what happens in their life.  Write down what you want to accomplish.  Write down what you need to change and will change.  Boldly state what you are going to do (STARTING NOW - TODAY) to begin moving toward your goals.  Prioritize these goals so that they are more important than that piece of cheesecake or extra helping of mashed potatoes.  Then and only then you have a shot at success for the long haul.

* Desire.
Make the transformation and its process a burning desire within you.  You must believe in yourself and in the plan.  You must be willing to sacrifice.  You must be willing to do whatever necessary to reach the end result.  I recommend that you close your eyes and take a few minutes to envision what you would like to look like.  Do this RIGHT NOW!  You have probably had this picture in your minds eye before, but most likely it was there for only a fleeting few seconds.  You had the image and then subconsciously told yourself that you could never look like that and you pushed the picture out of your thoughts.  This time don’t push it out, keep it there.  As a matter of fact, you need to burn this image into you mind.  The image of what you want for your physical body must be ingrained so deeply in your mind that everything you do is an extension of this model.  The doing or not doing of everything must help you get closer to that image.   Most people who desire to change their body see themselves as fat.  What they see in the mirror has burned into there mind and there image of themselves is just what they are -- overweight.  This may be the case for the present, but in order to change this you must change the mind’s image.  Change that image from what you are now to what you desire to be.  When you close your eyes see what you desire, what you want, what you need.  Brand the image of what you will accomplish on your mind. Do not even give yourself a chance to fail.  Failure can not even be an option to you.  Then take the necessary actions to propel you to that image and I guarantee you can get there.  Every day sit down and take 10 minutes to see yourself, as you desire to be.  Burn this image into your mind.  Then do what it takes to get there.

* Commitment.
You must make this commitment to yourself.  You must do it for you and only you.  If you think for a minute you are going to do it for your husband, your children, your friends, your doctor or anyone other than you nine times out of ten you will not ultimately succeed.  You may meet with a degree of success but to fully succeed in any transformation you must do it for you. Making a commitment is one thing - keeping it is quite another.  To keep your commitment you may have to enlist the help of others.  Remember, very few people succeed at anything alone and if you have never really taken up this kind of task before you may need to look for help.  Your local fitness center can put you on the right track.  First, call training centers in a 30-mile radius around your home or work and ask questions.  Find out what they offer; their price, if they have personal training, hours of operation, and so on.  Then, go and join one.  Maybe even get a personal trainer and talk to a nutritional counselor.  Making a body transformation is a matter of nutritional intake and proper physical training.  You can tell the trainer you already have a program (I recommend you use the program I have included) you want him/her for the motivation to push you to the limit.  Some trainers may want you to use a program they have designed.  If you are just getting started and you feel comfortable with the trainer’s knowledge of training principles, then go for it.  Let them develop something for you.  The money you pay for this help will pay you back a thousand times over if you have a great trainer.  You will be making an investment in you, -- your health and well-being.  An investment that is priceless.  However, it ultimately falls on you to stay committed.  You must  get on and stay on the right path (without to many little detours).

* Take action.
You must take massive, constant and continual action.  It must be action wrapped in commitment (This is directly tied to Step 3). Commit to the action and to yourself.  It doesn't mean doing something once; like eating one good meal and rebounding by eating an ice cream cone.  Once you have the plan - 1) Your Goal, 2) You are Committed, 3) You have instilled a burning Desire inside you; then and only then is it time for Action.  If you try to go for it (and countless numbers of people have tried), without taking these steps in your mind and in written form, you are setting yourself up for failure.  You must have a great plan and be prepared.  You must change habits in your life.  You must avoid people, places and things that once led you in the wrong direction.  The ones that led you to where you are today.  You now must associate and align yourself with the people, places and things that are going to help you move toward your GOALS.  Like any trip, if you have the right map and read it correctly, you will get were you want to go.  However, if you have the wrong map, can not read it accurately, or stray from the course you will never get there.

YOU CAN AND WILL DO IT.  DON’T BE DENIED WHAT YOU DESERVE.  IF OTHERS CAN DO IT, THEN SURELY YOU CAN.  LOVE YOURSELF.  FIND STREGTH INSIDE YOU.

INTERNAL STRENGTH LEADS TO EXTERNAL STRENGTH.
